Bowie Police Department Employment


The Bowie Police Department is currently accepting applications for lateral police officers. All lateral applicants must pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) to be considered for employment. PAT requirements are included in the Lateral Application Packet. A City of Bowie Employment Application must be completed in order to be considered. Applicants will be notified of their eligibility by email at least 7 days prior of the scheduled PAT.

Police Officer Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • At least 21 years of age upon graduating from the Academy
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license
  • Not more than 1 point on your driving record
  • Must be able to pass physical agility test and medical examination
  • No felony convictions
